Philippe Miralles has been the training manager for over 30 years at Thévenin, a company specializing in home improvement and maintenance for individuals. Every year, he is responsible for training future salespeople and evaluating the sales representatives and installation technicians in the company.
Why did you choose an evaluation and e-learning platform?
There is a certain turnover in our sector, so my challenge was to digitize training more to make it more modern and engaging. We were still using paper two years ago. I found it very limiting and academic. The same goes for the internal promotion system, which was mainly based on interviews and written tests to assess skills and knowledge. I wanted to streamline processes and offer simple, remote learning.
Why did the ExperQuiz platform appeal to you more than others?
What initially interested me was mainly the questionnaires. We compared several LMS tools, and what I liked about ExperQuiz was the wide range of possible actions and the variety of question types. Fill-in-the-blank questions, ranking, matching, images with clickable areas... I found it more engaging than simple alternative questions.
What do you think of the customer support provided by ExperQuiz?
I took my first steps with ExperQuiz, and what I really appreciated was having a direct contact who was always very available and responsive. I did many exercises where my contact guided me concretely through screen sharing, allowing me to explore many more possibilities. It’s a real pleasure!
Thanks to this, I am now working on significant projects that I would not have imagined before, like competency-based remuneration, which allows us to adjust the remuneration of a population based on their skills.
Have you developed any functionalities to adapt the platform to your use case?
Some, yes, especially concerning the training. I wanted a training library, and after my request, ExperQuiz created the 'Training Models' tab, which allows for the creation of a whole library of modeled training courses.
But in reality, even though the initial use was very smooth, I am still getting to grips with the tool. I regularly discover new features, like recently, the signature and attendance sheet system.
Moreover, there are still options that I don’t use, and for which my support contact tells me, 'Hey, in this case, you might want to try this feature.' In fact, I use ExperQuiz like a self-service: I take what interests me, at my own pace.
Has the tool allowed you to implement new practices within your company?
My goal with ExperQuiz is to make my managers more autonomous and independent by helping them structure and organize themselves better. So that they can say, 'I have everything I need to train my students.' The requirement to create user groups allows for real personalization: each manager has their own population and very specific authorization profiles. It’s tailor-made, allowing the content to be adapted.
